Celine Browning

Celine Browning brings a background in professional interpreting and communication to the Friends of Alta board, along with a lifelong personal connection to Alta and Little Cottonwood Canyon. Since her mother acquired a cabin in Albion Basin in the 1990s, Alta has been a constant and formative presence in her life. Growing up and spending time in Little Cottonwood Canyon fostered a deep appreciation for Alta’s environment and the responsibility that comes with caring for such a unique place.
Her professional work centers on careful listening, ethical judgment, and navigating complex conversations among diverse stakeholders, skills that align closely with Friends of Alta’s science-based, collaborative, and future-oriented approach to conservation. Celine is especially passionate about outreach and education, and believes that stewardship begins at a young age by fostering curiosity, respect, and understanding of the natural world.
She is committed to protecting Alta’s environment, heritage, and character, and to supporting thoughtful, transparent decision-making that respects both the land and the community it sustains. She is honored to serve Friends of Alta and to help steward this extraordinary place for those who call it home, whether for a lifetime or a season
