The Friends of Alta Snow Ranger program consists of activities that children and their families can complete while they visit Alta during the winter. Junior ranger activity books motivate children to explore the natural and cultural world and embrace their responsibility for it. The goal is to educate the younger generation the importance of the watershed, and Alta, for all of Salt Lake Valley through fun activities they can complete while visiting Alta.
 
Junior Rangers are typically between the ages of 5 to 13, although people of all ages can participate.
