A native New Yorker, Gloria Lee grew up as a Fresh Air Fund kid, and fell in love with the outdoors during her summers in Vermont. She discovered Alta as a recreational skier in the late 1980’s. During the 1991-92 season, she stepped off the career train and spent a season working at the Alta Lodge where she truly learned how to ski. Gloria, her husband Hank Gifford and their kids have visited and enjoyed skiing, hiking and climbing at Alta every year since.
Gloria is currently an executive and marketing consultant, specializing in brand consulting, marketing strategy, media planning and production management. Recently, Lee was the Vice President of Affiliate Marketing & Promotion at the ABC Television Network. Over two decades there, she collaborated with over 200 local TV stations across the country on numerous ABC marketing initiatives. This included multiple non-profit initiatives: Disney’s Day of Giving (to benefit victims of natural disasters); Oprah’s Big Give (raised over $6 million in media value for 100+ non-profit organizations across the U.S.) and Disney ABC Corporate Social Responsibility annual projects (Magic of Storytelling, Earth Month and Summer of Service). Prior to ABC, Gloria led local television marketing teams in Salt Lake City (KTVX) and Sacramento. She was also honored for creative achievement, earning several local Emmy and Promax Gold and Silver Awards. Gloria has an MBA from Pepperdine University, and was recognized by Beta Gamma Sigma for business excellence. She received her BA in biology from Cornell University.
Gloria and Hank moved back to Utah in 2020 and they continue to enjoy Alta in all four seasons.
