About the Event

Join Biology and Geology professors from Utah Valley University on a moderate hike to explore wildflowers and other highlights of the Albion Basin around Alta Ski Resort. The hike will include many stops to explore flowers and plants, to seek wildlife, and to discuss the geologic setting of a “textbook” example of beautiful mountain scenery created by glaciers.


After the hike, join us for sandwiches and cookies, and please bring a reusable water bottle for drinks.


Plan to wear weather-appropriate clothes and sun protection, and bring food and water for the hike. Due to the nature of the hike and the in-depth topics about Alta's unique environment, we recommend that children not attend. However, there is no official age restriction, and participants of all ages are welcome if they feel comfortable with the hike level and discussion content.
