Del Draper

Del graduated from Brown University and then received his J.D. degree from the University of Utah College of Law. After seven years in private practice Del joined the legal staff of The Williams Companies and represented its various subsidiaries in the Western United States and, for the years he lived in Tulsa, subsidiaries in other parts of the country. For the last 20 of his years with Williams he oversaw the Company’s lobbying efforts in a ten-state region in the West.

Del’s connection with Alta began when his family built a cabin here when he was 9 years old. He has watched Alta grow and change over the ensuing decades and is passionate about preserving the natural environment of the area. He currently also serves as a representative of the Alta Community on the Stakeholders Council of the Central Wasatch Commission. He has served on the Boards and been Board Chair of Planned Parenthood of Utah, the Colorado Plateau Archeological Alliance, and the Utah Petroleum Association. He also served on the Board of the Utah Museum of Natural History. Del lives with his wife Mary in Salt Lake and has two daughters, Phoebe and Abby, who he can no longer keep up with on the ski slopes of Alta.
