Jason Moretz

Originally from South Carolina, Jason, his wife Elizabeth and at the time 2-month-old daughter Alta, moved to Utah in 2011. An avid outdoor enthusiast his whole life, Jason found that he and his wife were spending most of their vacation time in Little Cottonwood Canyon and ultimately decided that a move to the Wasatch best fit their personalities and lifestyles. While it was the greatest snow on earth that originally drew Jason to Alta, he quickly grew to love all four seasons and can frequently be found running the trails in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Jason holds a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Master and Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology. Previously an environmental consultant, he has extensive experience in environmental permitting and ecological restoration, skills that will be useful as the natural community at Alta continues to face development pressures. He is currently Vice President of Development at 8minute Solar Energy, the largest independent utility scale solar power developer in the United States.
